Age 4-8 years:
The student is encouraged to reach their full potential through creativity, discipline and the first elements of academic technique.Age 9-12 years:
Students study the basic principles of classical technique, paying special attention to proper posture and placement. As their muscles are strengthened, the girls begin Pointe work, generally not before 11-12 years.
Age 13-15 years: (Preforming)
Students expand and revue their knowledge of classical technique. The program, in addition to classes in Pointe work and repertoire, includes modern and contemporary dance, in order to enhance and broaden the student’s education.
Age 15-18 years: (Training)
Students deepen and consolidate all their previous work. Classes in Pas de Deux and men’s technique are added. Particular attention is given to the relationship between music and movement, to create a fluidity which suggests a strong sense of power and freedom.
Note: Even students who do not continue to pursue a professional dance career will have the opportunity to develop their self-determination, grace, poise and understanding of the arts, qualities which will remain with them all their lives..
